May promises to be a great month for 6pm Community Groups as we come together to study and discuss the book of Ruth.

in the Old Testament, and we are going to spend the next four weeks

The Crux: Discussion Material

“The Crux” is a Easter sermon series at the 6pm service, focussing on the death of Jesus, and what it achieved.

“Crux” is a Latin word which refers to the decisive or most important point at issue. It also literally means cross.

As Christians we believe that the Cross of Jesus is the literal crux of human history. It’s the most decisive and important event that has ever taken place.

Impact’s Bushfire Relief

The Impact team are organising another day for our church serve the community through bushfire recovery at a local property. Last year, a group participated in this work, and were really shocked at the devastation and how much work still needed to be done. Some of the things that we will be doing include re-establishing gardens, some heavy pruning of dead and burnt trees and possibly replanting fruit trees and more.

Meeting at the church Saturday April 17 at at 7:45am, arriving at Panton Hill church vicarage by 8.30 and then heading to the property. We will spend the rest of the day helping out with an open ended finishing time (if finish time is a concern for you please contact us and we will sort something out).

Impact-themed Parish Prayer and Praise

Please join the Impact social justice ministry team for April’s edition of HTD’s Parish Prayer and Praise event at the church from 7:45pm on Tuesday 20 April. We will be gathering together to pray to our great God, focusing on Impact’s work and general issues of social justice. We will also have some low-key worship music to praise Him in that way. Parish Camp 2010!

Friday 26th – Sunday 28th of February is the annual HTD Parish Camp.

Our venue is the very comfortable, very well situated, kid-friendly “CYC: The Island” Conference Centre in Cowes, Phillip Island.

Our speaker is the internationally renowned Dr Peter Adam, principal at Ridley College, Melbourne. Peter will be speaking to us over 4 sessions on the topic “Power and Weakness in Christ” from 2 Corinthians.

Our Children’s Minister, Ruth Newmarch, and Youth Pastor, Chris Bowditch will also be running a fantastic Kid’s Program for all Sunday School aged children.
