BIBLE STUDIES

A number of Bible studies operate especially for women.

LADIES' GUILD
Flower StandMeets on the second Tuesday of the month at 1.30pm.

For many years one of the projects of the Ladies Guild has been to take posies of flowers to patients at the Peter MacCullum Institute and more recently to residents at the Manningham Centre, as well as sending flowers to parishioners who are unwell.

Many of the Guild members also serve on the flower roster for the church. When we were searching for a suitable way of remembering our long serving member and President Joyce Fahey it was decided to have a new flower stand (above, left) made for the church.

The stand was made by one of Holy Trinity’s parishioners, Ken Barker, in Australian timber to tone with the existing woodwork in the church.

LADIES' AFTERNOON FELLOWSHIP
Aims:
For those who wish to meet with Christians to establish friendship and provide an opportunity for exploring the relevance of the Christian message in their everyday lives. Meetings are on the first Monday of the month at 1.30pm at Holy Trinity.

MOTHERS' UNION
Meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 1.30pm. The Purpose of MU is to be specially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life. Its aim is the advancement of the Christian religion in the sphere of marriage and family life. Its five objects are:
1. To uphold Christ's teaching on the nature of marriage and to promote its wider understanding.
2. To encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and life of the Church.
3. To maintain a world wide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service.
4. To promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children.
5. To help those whose family life has met with adversity.

The MU was founded by Mary Summer in 1876 when she gathered together a group of Mothers to encourage and support them in the art of Mothering. It is now a world wide organisation within the Anglican Church and has a lobbying presence at the UN. It is involved in developing countries in enpowering women by providing literacy programs and providing small "seed projects" to help women to establish cottage industries.Within HTD we provide prayer support for the Playgroups and also some members help within the playgroups. We provide Baptism Kits to the families of babies being baptised.

We support the Wedding Seminars by providing lunch on the lst day of the seminar and presenting Wedding Kits to the couples planning to be married. We also provide the greeting cards sold at the church on Sundays and the profit goes to the work of MU around the world.

As a World Wide organisation each Diocese and branch is linked with other dioceses and branches and keep in touch with each other exchanging letters and information.COFFEE & DESSERT NIGHTSHeld three or four times a year-a great social night with a thought provoking speaker.
