Purchasing Holy Trinity Sermons on audio CDs or mp3 CDs

What is MP3?

MP3 is a means of digitally encoding and highly compressing audio so that it still sounds like the original uncompressed audio to most listeners. For Holy Trinity Doncaster, it means we can fit many sermons on one standard CD. Many audio players of recent manufacture (e.g. those in late model motor vehicles) can play both Audio CDs and MP3 CDs.

Purpose

Given our 10-year bank of sermons, we want this to be a help for deepening the spiritual understanding of both new and older Christians, a ready resource to inform newer members of the congregation, a potential tool for evangelism, and an encouragement for Christians separated by distance, such as those involved in missionary service. Sermons on MP3 CDs will be grouped to primarily cover particular books of the Bible, but will also deal with aspects of Christian life such as prayer and special interest events such as the Summer Studies. A quarterly issue will cover all available sermons preached at Holy Trinity in the preceding three months.

Our MP3 CDs are not intended to replace Audio CDs, which will continue to be available, and which can be purchased immediately after the conclusion of a service. MP3 CDs will be available by order. If desired, a particular collection of sermons can be assembled on an MP3 CD at a higher cost. The pricing structure of Audio CDs and MP3 CDs is explained further on.

Initial release

The initial release of MP3 CDs is set out below. Further releases will be made over time. Note that the quality of recordings prior to mid 2005 is dependent on the condition of the tapes from which they were transferred.

A list of sermons recorded on each MP3 CD, including title, preacher and relevant book(s), is available at the information display in the church building. Order forms are available just outside the office. Requests accompanied by payment should be made during office hours or placed in the office chute at other times. Requests not accompanied by payment should be placed in the “Sermon CD / MP3 Request” pigeon hole. For email inquiries please email the .

$1 per sermon (minimum $5)

Special request compilations: $1.20 per sermon (minimum $6)

Audio CDs

$5 each (one sermon)

When 12 or more Audio CDs are purchased in one transaction, the price will be $4 for each CD.

Postage within Australia if required - add $4 (up to 2 CDs per Australia Post disk mailer)
